With the increasing cases of Omicron, the concern of the governments is also increasing day by day. Many states are imposing restrictions as a precaution. There is enthusiasm in the whole world about the new year, in such a situation, a guideline has been issued by the Home Department of the Government of Maharashtra regarding the celebration of New Year i.e. on the night of 31 December.

Government issued new guidelines

Ban on organizing programs for New Year’s celebration

  • People above 60 years of age and below 10 years of age should not leave their homes on the night of 31st December.
  • Only 25% capacity allowed in open ground events
  • Only 50% capacity is allowed in hall or closed auditorium.

Earlier, the Maharashtra government had announced new guidelines due to Omicron.

According to him, more than 5 people have been banned from 9 pm to 6 am in public places in the state. A maximum of 100 people are allowed in indoor weddings and a maximum of 250 people for outdoor weddings. According to the Maharashtra government, 50% capacity is allowed for gyms, spas, hotels, theaters and cinema halls. In other social, political, religious events also, the number of people present should not exceed 100 and in open space this number should not exceed 250 or 25% of the capacity of the place, whichever is less. Restaurants, gyms, spas, cinema halls will operate at 50% capacity. All of them have to declare their full capacity as well as 50% capacity.

The total cases of the new virus have crossed 780.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are a total of 77,002 active cases of corona in the country. Omicron is also infecting people who have taken the double vaccine. Along with Corona, the cases of Omicron are increasing rapidly in the capital Delhi, in view of which, while issuing a yellow alert, many restrictions have imposed along with night curfew.

If this trend continues in these cases, then there are plans to increase these restrictions by upgrading the alert.
