During an interview With TOLO News, The Taliban spokesperson “Sayed Zekrullah Hashimi says that women can’t be ministers” and they should give birth. He said that there will be an only male cabinet for its interim government and announced the name of the hardliners and globally wanted terrorists as key ministers.

Sayed said It is like you put something on her neck that she can’t carry. It is not necessary for women to be in the cabinet – they should give birth.

The women of Afghanistan are those who give birth to the people of Afghanistan and educate them on Islamic ethics. https://www.indiatoday.in/world/story/afghanistan-taliban-government-women-cant-be-minister-should-give-birth-spokesperson-1851098-2021-09-09

When the interviewer said “women are half of the society”, Hashimi clearly denied it. He said they do not consider them half. And asked the interviewer that what kind of half they are talking about? According to him the definition of half itself is not defined there. The half means for them is to only keep women in the cabinet and nothing more. And if they violate her rights, not an issue.

According to the reports, women are out on the streets of Kabul.  Demanding they must be represented in the government in Afghanistan. Their right to education and jobs must be protected.  Taliban has clarified that they are not going to give any rights to the women in the ministry. Many women have been brutally assaulted by Taliban fighters. Several videos have viral where women are with bloodied faces and being threatened with a gun. They were even whipped by Taliban gunmen.
