Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday. That the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved BTech courses in 11 regional languages. These languages include Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi and Oriya.
Pradhan tweeted, AICTE has approved BTech course in 11 regional languages. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to promoting regional languages in mainstream education. The National Education Policy emphasizes on this important dimension to empower the students coming from different fields.
Earlier on Saturday, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu welcomed the decision of 14 engineering colleges in eight states. To offer courses in regional languages in select branches from the new academic year.
