Special cell team of Delhi Police arrested Maninder Singh alias Moni, who wields a sword in the Red Fort during the tractor rally of the farmers on Republic Day.
Another accused absconding has been arrested by the Special Cell team of Delhi Police in the violence case during the Tractor Rally on the day of Republic Day. Delhi Police arrested the accused from Pitampura area late yesterday (16 February).
There was an uproar with a sword inside the Red Fort
The accus, arrest by Delhi Police, have been identifie as Maninder Singh alias Moni, who lives in the Swaroop Nagar area of Delhi. He is a car AC mechanic by profession. Maninder Singh is accus of violence, sabotage and violence on policemen inside the Red Fort. He is seen waving a sword and an iron rod in his hand and make uproar in several CCTV videos inside the Red Fort.
The protesters hoisted the religious flag on the Red Fort
During the tractor parade of agitating farmers on Republic Day, a large number of fierce protesters broke the barrier and reached the Red Fort and placed a religious flag on its rampart. The protesters, who entered the Red Fort, created a fierce furore and vandalized several places besides the ticket counter. Police evacuated the Red Fort from the protesters till around 10:30 pm and removed the religious flag as well. Thousands of protesters clashed with the police at several places, including the ITO in Delhi, causing chaos in Delhi and surrounding areas.
