We know that their career span is shorter than other occupations. So after retirement, players have to find some other job. The government has rewarded many talented Indian cricketers by appointing them to prestigious posts. So let’s know about such Indian cricketers who are also government officials.

1. Kapil Dev – Lieutenant Colonel, Indian Army

Kapil Dev is one of the best all-rounders to represent India in cricket. In his 17-year cricket career of 1978–1995. He has won several matches to India on his own. India, the former captain who won the World Cup for the first time. Ber has  awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army. 2. Joginder Sharma – Deputy Commissioner of Police, Haryana

3. Sachin Tendulkar – IAF Honorary Group Captain

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the best captains in the world. He helped India win three major ICC tournaments – first T20 World Cup in 2007, World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013. Apart from cricket, the former Indian captain has held not one, But two government posts. After making India a world champion under his leadership in 2011. He was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Army. Dhoni takes great pride in wearing the uniform of the Army.

5. Harbhajan Singh – Deputy Superintendent of Police, Punjab

Harbhajan Singh is undoubtedly one of the best off-spinners in India. He last played for the Indian team against South Africa in 2015. However, he is currently out of Team India. He has appointed as Deputy Superintendent by Punjab Police as a reward for his services to the game.

6. Umesh Yadav – Assistant Manager, Reserve Bank of India

Umesh Yadav who was an aspiring constable a decade ago. In 2017, He  appointed to the post of Assistant Manager at Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur. Yadav may have lost the post of constable but due to his good performance in cricket. He got a job in one of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

7. Yuzvendra Chahal – Inspector, Income Tax Department

Chahal gaining popularity in international cricket. The Indian Income Tax Department honored him by appointing him to the post of Income Tax Officer.

8. K.L Rahul – Assistant Manager, Reserve Bank of India
