Volvo C40 SUV is already available in India and is considered quite successful. The Swedish automobile giant Volvo Cars is looking to establish its foothold in the luxury segment of electric cars in India. The company showcased the Volvo XC40 Recharge in Delhi on Tuesday.
For customers wanting to buy battery-powered luxury cars, booking of the Volvo XC40 recharge will start from June. At the same time, the delivery of the first batch of this electric vehicle will start from October.

It had been releasing teaser photos of the XC40 Recharge in the Indian market for some time. Now the company’s new car will compete with cars like Mercedes and Jaguar Land Rover in India. Mercedes launched the EQC at the end of last year. While Jaguar I-PACE will be officially launched by the end of this month.

Power and driving range
Volvo XC40 SUV is already available in India and is consider quite successful. And the XC40 recharge also plans to perform better due to its merits. It has a 78 kWh battery pack. Because of which this electric car claims a certified range of about 335 km. The XC40 electric car claims a top speed of 100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds. And like all Volvo cars introduced at the moment, its capped top speed is 180 kmph.

Globally, Volvo is trying to challenge Tesla model dominance. Volvo offers its car in the US market at a starting price of $ 53,990 (about Rs 39.4 lakh), giving it a direct competition to the Tesla Model .
In India, if it is compared to some of its rivals, it can priced very competitively. However, the company has not disclosed the price of the car for the Indian market. But according to the report, its ex-showroom price can be around or above 60 lakh rupees.

The XC40 Recharge may be it biggest offering in the Indian market this year. But with this, the company is also launching many more models in 2021. Volvo is about to launch the updated S90, XC60 as well as C40 Recharge in the Indian market.
Volvo recently announced that it would make only electric vehicles by 2030. The Volvo C40 recharge is the company first car to launched as an electric model only. With this, it will be the first car the company will sell only online.
