Basavaraj Bommai will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. He is counted among the powerful Lingayat leader and close confidant of Yeddyurappa. After the resignation of BS Yeddyurappa, he selected for the post of Chief Minister. Yediyurappa proposed his name and Dharmendra Pradhan announced his name. Basavaraj Ji will take oath as the Chief Minister on Wednesday.
Basavaraj Bommai, 61, was born on 28 January 1960 in Hubli. Former Chief Minister SR Bommai’s son Basavaraj is one of the big leaders of BJP in Karnataka. He took his BE degree in 1982 from Bhumaradi College of Engineering and Technology. Basavaraj Bommai’s wife’s name is Chennamma and they have two children.
Basavaraj Bommai was made the Home Minister of Karnataka earlier this year. He was also a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 2004 to 2008. His full name is Basavaraj Somappa Bommai. Bommai, who was the Minister of Home Affairs, Law, Parliamentary Affairs of Karnataka.

He also served as the Minister in charge of the District of Haveri and Udupi. Earlier he has served as the Minister of Water Resources and Cooperation. Basavaraj, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister SR Bommai, has a BE in Mechanical Engineering. Basavaraj started his career with the Tata group.
He started his political career with Janata Dal. He joined BJP from Janata Dal in 2008. Never looked back after him. After that the BJP is holding important positions in the party and the government.
