India’s world ranking in innovation improved

He said, ‘The campaign that is going on in India regarding innovation has the effect that India’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index has also improved a lot. In the year 2015, India was at number 81 in this ranking. Now India is at number 46 in the Innovation Index.

Startups will become the basis of ‘New India’

PM Modi said that the startups of the country are bringing a big change in the industry. That’s why I believe that startups are going to be the mainstay of ‘New India’, he said.

PM Modi said that in the year 2013-14, where 4 thousand patents were approved, last year more than 28 thousand patents have granted. He told that in the year 2013-14, where about 70 thousand trademarks were register. In 2020-21 more than 2.5 lakh trademarks have registered. Similarly, in the year 2013-14, where only 4 thousand copyrights were grant. Last year their number increased to more than 16 thousand.

Prime Minister Modi said that last year 42 companies became unicorns in the country.
