Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the annual pre-budget Economic survey shortly after the President’s speech. President Murmu is addressing members of both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha in a joint session, signaling the start of the budget session in Parliament.
This is President Murmu’s first budget session speech since becoming the country’s second female head of state(after Pratibha Patil).
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the annual pre-budget Economic survey shortly after her address, nearly twenty-four hours before presenting the Union budget in Lok Sabha.
Then, at 2 p.m., Dr. V Anantha Nageswaran, chief economic advisor (CEA), will hold a press conference to reveal the survey to the public.
