Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that flights will start from Ayodhya Airport soon. Also, the Government of India has given its approval to the proposal to make it Internation Airport Ayodhya and for this. 250 crore rupees have made available for the construction of the airport for immediate operation of aircraft like ATR 72 there.

He said that along with this, the process of expansion of the airport will continue. In which the air bus and other large passenger planes can be transported in a better way. According to a government statement, Adityanath say that Ayodhya is famous as Shri Ram Janmabhoomi.

Therefore, the UP Government sent a proposal to the Government of India to develop the airstrip of Ayodhya as an international airport. For the construction of the airport, the State Government has given an amount of one thousand crores to the district administration for purchasing the land and the acquisition process is going on fast. So far, more than 377 acres of land has been purchased and are advancing it on a war footing.

In the UP Budget 2021-22, it has been decide to rename Ayodhya airport to Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport. A provision of Rs 101 crore has made in the budget.

Ayodhya Airport is set to develope as an international airport. In August last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. Since then, Ayodhya has gained attention in the country and the world from the point of view of religious tourism.

A budget of Rs 140 crore has been provided for the all-round development of the city of Ayodhya, including the development of Suryakund in Ayodhya.
