Nepotism has recently become one of the most talked about topics in the Bollywood industry. Especially after the tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Netizens are accusing Karan Johar of being the ‘flag bearer’ of nepotism in Bollywood. In fact, it was Kangana Ranaut. However, After sometime Karan Johar has gone on record to disregard talented actors and clear his image from all the misconceptions around him to promote the Star Kids. Meanwhile, many tiring videos of Bollywood celebrities talking about Nepotism Away are circulating on social media.
One of the viral videos, Coffee with Karan has gone viral a moment where Karan Johar asked Ishan Khattar to create a Bollywood stereotype. Which is actually true during a rapid-fire round on the show. In response, Shahid Kapoor, seated next to Ishaan, inspired ‘nepotism’ as a response. To which Ishaan said “Can I say that?”, Shahid responded positively, ‘Of course you need.’
The last time Karan Johar opened up about nepotism in an interview. He had asked why he had no open credit for launching new directors. Those who do not belong to this industry. He had said, we have introduced 21 directors. Of which, I can say, 16-17 are not “young” filmmakers.
