The central government has banned new registrations for the vaccinations of healthcare and frontline workers with immediate effect. The government has issued instructions to all states and union territories for this.

In the name of healthcare and frontline workers, some people are registering for the vaccine. Which does not come in its criterion. The Center has taken this step, calling it a violation of the Vaccination Guidelines.

Registration of people above 45 years of age will continue

In a letter to states and union territories. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has said that registration of people 45 years or older will continue on the CoWIN portal. He inform that first the registration of health care workers was to be close on 25 February and that of the frontline workers on 6 March.

This was discuss with state representatives and experts at a meeting of the National Expert Group (NEGVAC). Which is looking after the work of vaccine administration. In this, the group has recommended the closure of new registrations.

More than 13 lakh people got vaccinate on 78th day

According to the Health Ministry. 7.44 crore doses of vaccine have given across the country till Saturday under the vaccination drive. More than 13 lakh people were vaccinate by 8 pm on the 78th day. According to the report, 11,86,621 people were given the first dose and 1,13,525 were given the second dose on Saturday. Talking about total vaccination, so far 6,43,51,716 people have given first and 1,00,90,551 people have been given second dose.

The third phase of vaccination started from April 1

The world’s largest vaccination program was start in India from 16 January. Initially vaccination was done only by health workers. Later, frontline workers were also add to it. In the second phase from 1 March, the vaccination program started for all people above 60 years of age and those suffering from the disease of more than 45 years. The central government has included all people above 45 years in the vaccination program from April 1 in the third phase.
