Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today flagged off the trial run of ‘Kanpur Metro’ in Kanpur. The Chief Minister pressed the button for trial of a Metro train that would not only help in establishing seamless connectivity but would also boost the development of the region by reducing vehicular congestion across the city. During the conduct of the trial run, the Chief Minister inspected the facilities available in the Metro coaches as well as the arrangement of the platforms.
The Kanpur Metro Rail project has completed in less than two years despite the pandemic.

Kanpur Metro will equipped with regenerative braking technology.
This will save electricity up to 35 percent. Lifts installed at stations and depots will also be able to save energy with regenerative braking technology. Their energy efficiency will be up to 37 percent. The metro premises have also equipped with LED lights to conserve energy and electricity. Apart from this, a plan has also prepared to install solar panels at metro depots and stations.
