Delhi DDMA : The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has banned public gatherings of Chhath Puja in the city this year. Now people will have to celebrate this festival at their homes. The restrictions will remain in force till November 15. Celebrations will not able to celebrated in a public place. This festival is starting from 8th November.

Chhath Puja celebrations will not able to done in public places in Delhi this year.

In view of environmental pollution and corona epidemic, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has banned public gatherings of Chhath Puja 2021 in the city this year. DDMA has appealed to the public to celebrate this holy festival at home instead of going out to save themselves from pollution and epidemic.

According to the guidelines issued by DDMA, this ban on Chhath Puja 2021 celebrations will remain in force till November 15. The corona protocol in Delhi has also been extended till November 15. It has been clarified in the circular that people will not be allowed to celebrate Chhath festival on the banks of public places, grounds, rivers, temples or ponds. Instead people will have to celebrate this festival at their homes.

Festivals will not be able to celebrate in public places

Let us inform that earlier DDMA had also banned Ganesh festival and immersion in public places in Delhi. Also, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on 15 September and informed about the ban on the storage, sale and use of firecrackers on Diwali this year.

After that, now a circular has been issued to ban Chhath Puja in public places. The festival of Chhath Puja starts six days after Diwali and lasts for 3 days. This time this festival is starting from 8th November. DDMA has directed that this ban will be applicable not only for Chhath Puja but for all the festivals coming up to November. During this time, permission for fairs, food stalls, swings and rallies etc. will also not allowed in Delhi.
