Keeping in mind the new variant Omicron of Covid, Maharashtra has made changes in the Institutional Quarantine Rules. It has told by the state government that under the new rules, passengers coming from just 6 ‘ultra risk’ countries will have to institutional quarantined. Under this, passengers from at-risk countries will no longer need institutional quarantine on arrival. Maharashtra Minister Aditya Thackeray said that in view of the past experience of the epidemic, there is a need to keep the rules of the state separate from the rules of the Center. He said, ‘We became victims of Covid first, Covid badly affected Maharashtra, so we need to be a little more cautious about our state. Maharashtra had announced several restrictions on Tuesday evening which were to come into effect from midnight. Due to this, international passengers would have had more problems.

However, the state later partially relaxed the restrictions. Aditya Thackeray had said that this was necessary as the passengers did not have a chance to plan their travel and finance. As of today, more than 50 countries are either facing or facing the threat of Omicron. European countries like UK, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Italy are include in this list. Apart from this, cases of Omicron have confirmed in South Africa, Botswana, Israel, Hong Kong and Japan.

There will be some strictness regarding some safety rules. He said that in Mumbai we are moving towards 100% vaccination. Will appeal to the Center to reduce the gap between the two doses of the vaccine.
