Mercedes-Benz India on Thursday kick-started 2022 with the launch of the new S-Class sedan under its luxury brand Maybach. 2022 Mercedes Maybach S-Class has launched in India at a starting price of Rs 2.5 Cr, ex-showroom. The new Maybach S-Class will be available as both locally built units and completely built units (CBU). The imported units of the sedan will be available from Rs 3.2 crore (ex-showroom).
Mercedes will locally produce the new Maybach S-Class at its Chakan manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. Mercedes will make the Maybach S-Class S580 edition in India, while the S680 versions will imported.
Engine power and speed of both the variants.
Mercedes Maybach S-Class S580 4MATIC is offer with a 4.0-litre V8 engine. It generates maximum power of 496 hp and maximum torque of 700 Nm. This variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just five seconds.
Whereas the Mercedes Maybach S-Class S 680 4MATIC, which will be available via the CBU route, gets a 6.0-litre V12 engine and all-wheel drive is offered with 4MATIC drive for the first time. This engine can generate power of 612 hp and peak torque of 900 Nm. This variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph. The imported units of the Maybach S-Class will offered with a dual-tone exterior color scheme.

The level of luxury increased.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class takes luxury to the next level with a lounge-like feel, under the Maybach branding. It gets many features like electrically operated comfy rear door, reclining chair with massage function, leg rest and folding table and electric seat belt reminder for rear seat passengers.
Large display unit.
The dashboard, center console and armrests are connected as a single unit and come with a floating effect. There are five display screens inside the car. While a 12-inch OLED center display is included as standard, a 12.3-inch 3D driver display is available as an option with 3D effects and clear depth and shadow effects of others on the road.
Level 2 Automation Drive Assist System.
The 2022 Maybach S-Class comes with Level 2 Automation Drive Assist system. It includes features like Evasive Drive Assist and Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function. It also gets autonomous safety features like blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist.

The sales of Maybach S-Class are already on in the international markets. It was launch last year with V8 and V12 engines and aims to take on rivals like Bentley and Rolls-Royce in the luxury sedan segment.
