Today the cabinet has approved the MITRA scheme for the textile industry. Under this scheme, seven mega textile investment parks will be set up across the country. During the cabinet briefing, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that 78 days bonus will also be given to railway employees (non-gazetted). Rs 1,985 crore will be spent for this. This will benefit 11,56,000 employees.

MITRA scheme : Anurag Thakur said that two important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting.

The first decision was taken that the railway employees who are non-gazetted. They will be given a bonus of 78 days. Apart from this, the second decision is related to the Ministry of Textiles. He said that you are aware that since the time of the last Kovid, continuous major reforms have come across the country and new sectors have also been opened. Schemes like Production Link Incentive were also started so that manufacturing would get a boost in the country, exports would also increase.

He said that Piyush Goyal ji had told in the last press conference that

The export of the first six months was the highest till date. That has happened in the last six months, and this time also we have come up with a similar scheme for the Ministry of Textiles. Central government has decided, PM Mitra scheme will be launched. In this, a total expenditure of four thousand four hundred and forty five crores will be incurred in five years.

Piyush Goyal said-

The government has taken seven major decisions to promote exports in the textile industry. Six of these decisions have already been taken. Today the seventh decision has been taken for this industry. He said that 10 states have shown interest for seven textile parks. When this park is ready, 7 lakh direct and 14 lakh indirect jobs will be created. About Rs 1700 crore will be spent in preparing a park. This park will be spread over 1000 acres.
